A reader corrects me, mea culpa

From the DHHL website:
"The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands accepts both Certificates of Live Birth (original birth certificate) and Certifications of Live Birth because they are official government records documenting an individual’s birth."
However, the DHHS is only a department of the State of Hawaii, in a court of law not only a certified document is required, but also a custodian of the records must testify to the validity of the record. Even certified records can be forged.
I will, however, remove my post declaring that the state doesn't accept COLB documentation.
